2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2011-11-12. Dark amber-red brown body is nearly headless. 3+ Pretty mild flavour, sweet malt and a bit of caramel, overly sweet. Similar aroma, sweet sugary caramel malt. 5+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. 3+ Inoffensive it is clearly aimed at a broader market, but kind of bland, and a bit too sweet overall. On tap at Jolly Pumpkin Cafe, Ann Arbor

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
11.5oz bottle picked up at Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a mostly clear, copper colored body with a thin, frothy, beige head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is fairly fruity and somewhat watery with a bit of a grainy toast, a touch of sweet and chewy caramel, and a light herbal hopping. Flavor is similar. Fruity with some grainy toast up front before a lightly sweetened caramel and herbal hopping comes in. Finishes pretty dry with a light toast and herbal bitterness along with some cardboard before leaving a medium length aftertaste with some florals coming out along with the grainy toast. Light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty bland amber. Not terrible, but not good. Eh...

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a very small off white head. Toasted malt aroma with a hint of caramel and fruit. Big malty flavor with sourdough and roasted nuts. Dry texture with average carbonation. A very drinkable amber.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle, purchased for $1.66 from Dutch’s. Clear, amber color. What little head there is, it is very bubbly and active. Lots of bubbles on the side of the glass. The malt, despite it’s too-light body, is actually pretty decent though. It’s toasted and savory, delivering a nice umami taste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Nose is sweet. Copper pour with a rocky white head. Light-bodied, crackery taste, low bitterness and restrained sweetness, a little dust and sort of dirty. Minimal, minimal hop presence. Very easy-drinking, plain.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A mild bready aroma starts this beer off. It pours a clear amber, with just a dusting of head. Very mild toasted flavor, with a touch of sweetness. There’s not really any hop bitterness in this beer. Mild and inoffensive, but nothing special.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice, crisp amber color. Not much of a head. Just one smell has you knowing you’re going to be in for something different. There is a ton of flavor in this Siren. Lots of malt, caramel, toasted bread, some hops in the finish. Big, round mouthfeel. There’s a bit of a dry, bitter finish.
Tons of flavor, well balanced, and a bigger feel than you’d expect. A very good amber ale.
