Slightly sweet, smoky, and full bodied. Chocolate, Roasted, and Dark Munich malts give this beer a nice mahogany color and rich flavor. This big brown ale will warm you up!

Draft pour pint at the 192 lake trail taproom. Dark brown pour with a creme foam head. Malt brown basic aroma. Flavor is nutty, malt, a bit bitter, but more or less a standard brown. Good.

On tap at North Sound, pours an opaque deep dark reddish brown with a small white head. Nose brings out toasted malt and burnt notes. Flavour is similar and pretty robust for the style - toasted malt, some roast, some burnt notes, and dry cocoa. A little harsh but a nice refreshing change for the style. Decent.

Dull muddy light brown. Light nutty nose with a touch of cocoa. Nutty, then sweet, with a long nutty finish.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a hazy brown color. Nose has some bread and caramel in there. Taste is slightly sweet and toasty, and drinks very smooth. This ends up being one of the better browns I’ve had in a while.

Brown color with small head. Nice roasted malts and chocolate, both aroma and flavor; good body strength, moderate sweetness. Fairly bitter.
Very nice. A lot of character here, and the chocolate is very evident.

On tap at Collins Pub in Seattle, WA. Pours a clear, deep brown colored body with a finger-width, dense, creamy and frothy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is really nice with a nutty and toasty, light caramel sweetness as well as some roasts, chocolate, touches of toffee-bread, and some earth. Flavor is similar. A lightly sweetened, nutty caramel and chocolate with a nice roast, toasted toffee bread, and earthy hopping. Finishes dry with a light-medium, earthy and roasty bitterness, but balanced with a nice nutty caramel. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, damn...I’m a sucker for a really nice brown ale and this is definitely one of the better ones. Roasty and earthy with a nutty caramel and chocolate balance that is dry, smooth, and easy drinking. Great beer.

Taster @ North Sound Brewing. I must have really enjoyed this one! Notes: Smells like freshly roasted coffee. Adds a lot to the flavor.

Draft at hudson. Pours a murky brown with a dense and creamy tan head. Big roasty black bread nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Roasty black bread semisweet chocolate and iced tea mid palate. Long earthy roast finish.

An intriguing deep brown and blood red boy with a creamed, oatmeal stout-like topping. Pleasant, warming roast barley nose entwined with chipped nuts. Brown malt roasted flavor with a moderate nut accent, leaving an enduring peanut skin flavor in the back of the palate.
