Commercial Description:
ESB and Pale Ale are really the same style of beer, except that the ESB version is usually a British Beer and always on Draught, never in a bottle. Again, our brew master went for the blend. In this beer we have our signature blend of base malts (2-row and pale) a little bit of British Pale (floor malted, maris otter malt winter barley), British 60L crystal malt, and American wheat malt. North Star ESB is finished with imported German Tettnanger hops in the kettle and dry hopped with American Northwestern Cascade hops in the conditioning tank after fermentation is complete. North Star ESB has a beautiful copper hue. There is a nice balance between the nobleness of the tettnager hops, the citrusy cascade hops and the rich malt character of the British crystal malts. Anyone that enjoys a good, crisp, dry, aromatic, pale ale will love this, always fresh, ESB/Pale Ale offering from North Star!
