argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA Dec 30, 2003 Hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma is mild sweet, grapefruit. Taste is herbal grapefruit, some nutty, light chocolate, not much bitterness. Medium body. MartinT (4307), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 5, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Grapefruity and floral hops swing within the clean, sociable body of this well-brewed but generic and understated IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slim veil of foam covers the hazy gold.
-Carbonation is prickly and works fine with the lean mouthfeel.
-The herbal, leafy hop bitterness is very polite.
-The flavor profile is the continuation of the aroma; feathery, quenching, and unmemorable.
On tap at the brewpub. BBB63 (3767), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 9, 2003 On tap: Hazy golden hue with a good frothy white head and good lace. Aroma hinted of aromatic and bitter hops, spruce, light grapefruit, leather, bubble gum, nutty and roasted malts. The taste was traditional, piney, fruity and mellow malt, balanced. Smooth and lightly bitter finish. Moderate metallic feel, dry and lively. Good hop character without becoming aggressive. A hybrid between european and west coast styles. Nice. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 11, 2006 tap at the brewpub. Deep hazy copper thick off-white head. Aroma is lightly hoppy, grapefruity, pine and a touch of resinousness. Light crystal sweetness, bready flavour. Ligtly hoppy flavour. A bit of light appley fruit, grapefruit. Light resiny flavour. Decent IPA. Could use some more dry hops. Sammy (3023), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2007 On-tap at the brewpub. Rather pale colour, though lace and creamy. Orange grapefruit flavours, a tad metallic.
