3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lots of honey on the aroma, with savory herby basil. Sticky sweet honey flavor on a viscous body, rather braggoty, finishes herby with plenty more basil. Kind of in the middle on this one. I do like that the basil flavor is potent and meshes well with the beer, but the sticky sweet honey is a bit much.

22. Thanks, Rich! This one was in great shape with a year on it. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a dense and creamy white head. Sweet nose, great combination of softly subdued honey with nice complement of minty basil. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Great presence of caramel, honey, and basil on the mid palate. Hides the 13% amazingly well. Really a nice surprise out of the cellar.

Bottle:   Hazy amber, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Strong basil aroma, seems sweet, honeyish as well.   Very unique.   Rather sweet on the tongue, almost cloying.   Strong basil thats for sure.   Surprisingly refreshing, different, and feels like it packs a wallop.   A little medicinal on the backside, could be the alcohol.   I was told this was 12%.   Almost has a mead quality to it because of the strong honey sweetness.   I am enjoying this one, even if its a little bit of a bruiser.   Different at least.

Would definitely like to know the abv on this bad boy. Interesting beer for sure. Big sweet honey nose, definitely like a braggot, notes of basil underneath. Pours golden, creamy white head and lace. Big honey flavor, balanced with a light herbal basil notes. Lingering honey, some definite alcohol. Sweet but with a little balance here, warming alcohol in the finish. Smooth with moderate carbonation. Really an interesting beer that is not necessarily my favorite or what I look for, but cool to try and pretty good stylistically for sure.

Wow cool beer from JW77. I get both honey and basil and it certainly has some notes of a braggot. Also some nice caramel malt and a good creamy body.

Another first from these guys, it says specialty malt beverage but i get the taste and feel of a braggot from this one. Basil all in the nose very thick body and gobs of sweetness. Another decent beer from this small microbrewery.
