COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A rich, satisfying coal-black porter - it has a pronounced liquorice taste on the palate derived from a generous infusion of liquorice root in the copper.

On cask at Trackside, Bury. Quite a complex porter, smoky, spicy and sweet in parts. A bit too much going on for my liking. Enjoyable.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Very dark brown. Ash and leather aroma. Oily, viscous taste of dates, tar, tobacco, and something that dripped from under my lawnmower. Mid bitter finish. It’s certainly deep and dark; perhaps a little too deep to accompany a repast of cheese and pickle roll in the warm sunshine of a gin-clear May morning in the English shires.
