MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 10, 2007 Any first impressions?
-An undying compact head of foam rests atop the clear golden bronze.
-Caramel maltiness and wooden, herbal hoppiness efficiently meld in a highly classy aroma.
-Whipped honey sweetness develops subdued fruitiness which is particularly fond of the generous herbal hopping.
-The well-rounded maltiness is happily shown by the low carbonation; a great body for a 4% brew.
What if you dig deeper?
-The workmanlike leafy hop bitterness responds adequately.
-Hops build with every sip, in flavor and bitterness.
-Cereals bloom late in the nose.
-This eminently drinkable bitter is quite complex yet knows how to remain humble in its endeavors. I really appreciated this one.

harrisoni (4930), Ashford, Kent, England Dec 24, 2005 Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Deep amber with no head. Some golden syrup and nice fruit. Some brown sugar. Finish is sweetish. Fine, but not exceptional
