2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap at Northwoods in Eau Claire, WI on Nov. 18, 2011. Bartender told me that this is brand new - they are calling it "Double Red" for now, but they havenít settled on a name for it yet. He said its the Red Cedar as a base beer, but they doubled the ABV. Whatever - it still isnít very good. Clear red-amber pour with minimal head. Aroma and taste has a strange familiarity to a childhood candy. Black licorice like, but I canít put my finger on it exactly. Nibs maybe?
