COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Session Pils salutes the unfiltered Pilsners of the Czech Republic: crisp, herbal with a biscuity depth and balanced hop finish. The Czech culture is a beer culture - drinking more beer per capita than any other nation. And their beer of choice is the low gravity, unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner, known as "workers" or "tap" beer. In the end, Czech Pilsner serves the same function as Brit Session Beer - lower ABV, great flavor, and built for multiple pints.

On tap at the Hill tavern. Aroma is grainy, really bready, legit Czech Pils aroma, very light grassy hop. Taste is grainy, very bready, light hoppiness. Palate is med-light bodied with good carbonation. Decent.

Easy drinking czech pils style. Not bes ever, but lovely blonde grassy beer.

Poured from a 12oz can. Poured a nice head with nice solid lacing. Has a very good European Pilsner taste, but lacking a bit on the ending. There is a faint note is sweetness, but is otherwise pretty straightforward. Extremely drinkable. Interested to see how it develops as it warms. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Julio’s. Pours a glowing yellow, effervescent. Aroma is pleasant: grassy hops, oats, orange. Taste is lightly toasted grain, citrus, lingering bitterness--bold flavor for a 4% ABV beer. There would be much worse things than a couple of these on a hot summer day.

Keg at Legal Test Kitchen. Clear gold, white head which lasts perfectly, nice lacing. Light caramel, grass and DMS on the nose. Taste is very DMS, light malt, light hop. Grassy veggie finish, nice prickle, medium body. Just about drinkable but not my thing.

My Bottom Line:
Herbal hop bitterness and sulphur-y notes whirl within this Pilsener’s furious carbonation lending a dryish, drinkable example.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-This high level of carbonation overshadows the malts’ depths and the hops’ spiciness.
-A touch of diacetyl is found underneath.
-This may not feel that authentic, but it is a decent quaff nonetheless.
-The flavor profile lacks the clarity I love in the style.

Bottle.

Can at home, extra’d in a trade. Pour is clear yellow with a big frothy white head and great lacing. Grassy, doughy, biscuity, crackery, slightly fruity, and bready aroma. Taste is minerally, floral, grassy, cracker malt, doughy, and somewhat chalky. Light body with crisp carbonation. Crushable, for sure.

Lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, straw, light grass. Taste of light doughy sweetness, toasty, lightly bitter, grassy hop finish.

Pours into a mug a hazy yellow with a big pillowy white head. Spicy and slightly metallic hops dominate the aroma along with some bakery smells from the yeast. Shifts to a very grainy flavor with more of a floral hop profile. The beer’s mouthfeel strikes a nice balance between thin and thick, but is brought down by excessive carbonation. Finishes up with a lingering bitter dryness with floral hints. Good lower abv beer, but Notch’s saison is much better.
