The Brits coined the term "session," but beer-brewing countries have been crafting their own versions of these flavorful, low-gravity beers for centuries. Brewed in the traditional, Belgian Saison style, our interpretation is refreshing and dry with a spicy yeast character and floral hop aroma.

The brewers of this beer prove that bold taste and delightful complexity don't have to rely on high gravity and high abv. A bit astringent which makes drinking a lot of it somewhat of a task, doubly unfortunate given its label as a "session" beer, Notch Saison is a nearly perfect table beer. It is full of flavor from the malt (including some Golden Naked Oats?), hops, AND yeast with each component adding its own level of nuance to the overall flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Muy refrescante pero poco compleja. Le falta carácter saison, presencia de la levadura y acidez. Parace más una wit.

Can from Julio’s.. Gold with slight haze lasting head and lace. Strong peach bubblegum dandelion aroma with some peppery spice. Fruity apricot pineapple sweetness with peppery grassy herbal bitterness and some lingering bubblegum sweetness. Light and fine. Pretty okay for a session beer. For a saison, maybe not so much.

Overly ripe banana on the nose. Lightly spiced vegetable broth. I prefer more black pepper and coriander in a Saison. I neither disliked nor enjoyed this ale.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Ariel. Hazy blond. Bubblegum, banana, some coriander and marzipan aroma, a little phenolic, a little sour and banana in the mouth. Light body, a little spicy finish.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Ariel. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of fruity esters and spiciness. Fruity flavor, a bit spicy, rather dry, slightly sweetish. Light to medium-bodied.

Poured from a 12oz can into a willi becher glass. Aroma - Clean, fresh scents of banana, clove, spice, underlying scent of yeast. Lots of hefe qualities on the nose. Appearance - Slightly hazy bronze. Sticky white head. Moderate lacing. Taste - Banana, lemon/ lime (both in flavor and sourness). Similar to its aroma, the taste exhibits an underlying spicy yeast quality. Mild herbal hops. Lemon-like pucker lingers on the pallet. Palate - Light bodied; dry. Overall - A superb beer. Chock full of goodness; despite a low ABV. This one is all about the yeast.

Pours a slightly hazy medium golden color with a finger of white foam. Nose is a blend of earthy yeast, pepper, bubblegum and floral grass. Palate follows the nose, touch of sulphur, banana, bubblegum, poormans pepper and some doughy grain sweetness on the backend. Not offensive but a little flabby and sadly a bit of a victim of saisonification.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Golden pour with a quick fuzzy white head. quickly. Decent toasted biscuit and yeast notes on the nose along with a citrus note that has a bit of grapefruit or pineapple. Light to medium body. Nice toasted malts lead the flavor with a tart, dry bitterness lingering at the end.

It pours a straw gold, looks slightly hazy, forms a 2 finger head of foam and again, great lacing. It smells yeasty, spicy with cloves etc, wheat, all of the goodies I expect from a Saison. Could the tastes ever be more true to smell than this? lol. Yeasty, spicy...second pour brings a stronger haze and that can me even more flavour judging from my past experiences with the style. The spice and yeast rule this sucker and it even has a mild hop flavour if you’re into Saisons with that trait. The mouthfeel is perfection for the style, imho. This is a wonderful Saison and the fact that it is only 3.8% abv is icing on the cake.

Hazy golden color. The nose was mostly clove and banana. Tasted of indistinct spices and slightly bitter.
