The Brits coined the term "session," but beer-brewing countries have been crafting their own versions of these flavorful, low-gravity beers for centuries. Brewed in the traditional, Belgian Saison style, our interpretation is refreshing and dry with a spicy yeast character and floral hop aroma.

The brewers of this beer prove that bold taste and delightful complexity don't have to rely on high gravity and high abv. A bit astringent which makes drinking a lot of it somewhat of a task, doubly unfortunate given its label as a "session" beer, Notch Saison is a nearly perfect table beer. It is full of flavor from the malt (including some Golden Naked Oats?), hops, AND yeast with each component adding its own level of nuance to the overall flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml. can @ train. Purchased @ Malt Attacks. Bottle of the can says 03/12/15 – not sure if bottled on or bbf. Drank straight from the can. Appears to be quite pale golden as far as I can see. Taste is a bit weak, mineral, boring apple, which sugar, touch watery, almost a bit industrial tasting, some hay, light grass. A touch watery, sparkling & mineral body. Rather weak but one that can be easily pounded.

Can, a nice one. Foamy when opening. Pours sparkling clear golden with lasting 2 finger slight off-white head. Aroma has loads of saison and yeast. Some peppery notes. Peach candy, canned juicy pear, ripe pear, mellow red apple, grainy wheat and flowery. Taste has yeast, sweet juicy and ripe pear, canned fruit, light tart wheat and light peppery finish. Some white grapes. Wheaty finish. High carbonation and light body. Drink from can! Way more fruity.
