Commercial Description:
Aug to Oct 2004 Magpie Ale - abv 4.0% Two new beers were introduced for the start of the 2004/5 football season, Magpie Ale to commemorate the mighty Notts County, and another beer named after another club both 4%. The Magpies Ale is a darkish, traditional bitter and the other beer is a lighter coloured brew. The fact that the webmaster is an ardent Notts County fan has nothing to do with any bias that may have been wrongly assumed when reading this information

Melton Beer Fest. A dark bitter. Aromas are earthy and a bit thin. Flavours are dry, earthy with oats and floral hops. Bitter on the finish. I have suspicions about the cask labelling of this beer at Melton Festival - it doesn’t quite fit its description in the programme. Perhaps we shall never know the truth.

Brewed for Nottingham County football club, this beer is jet black to match their strip! Not as good as usual Nottingham beers however, with a caramelly, one-dimensional bitterish taste and finish. Needs more work. (Cask at Melton Mowbray beer festival)
