In the US, called BrouCzech Dark.

Pyrope or Bohemian garnet stones were randomly collected in our territory by ancient Celts. It is a stone of all-binding fire, passion as well as purity of heart. However, it is generally known as a stone of love. Thanks to its typical colour, its name has been used metaphorically in connection with the colour of dark and semi-dark beers. Granat from Nova Paka is a dark sweeter lager with quality rich foam that is suitable for mixing pale types; alcohol 5%.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2007 Bottle... wonderful dark color with a light brown head. Superb aroma! Tons of character in the mouthfeel with a bitter finish. One of my favorite beers. Hugely underrated, in my opinion.

500ml bottle. It ours a dark brown with a foamy off-white/tannish head that dissipates quickly with little lacing. It smells really good. It has some caramel and cocoa underneath a fine blast of earthy, herbal noble hops. It stings the nostrils almost, very therapeutic in the smell. The taste is not quite as amazing but it is a solid Dunkel. IT is sweet, rich, and chocolatey with some caramel and a nice subtle noble hop bite. It is easy to drink, would be good on a hot summers day and a sweet but refreshing beverage. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-20-2011 23:13:33

bottle. Dark reddish-brown colour, large and very persistent head, quite creamy. Full-bodied and malty, slighlty sweet with lovely bitter hops as a contrast. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Bitter-sweet character - brilliant!

a nice farm fresh malted barley aroma welcomes you to a flavor of peppery hops and the flavor of the aroma that tempted you. Dark tasting with dried raisin and prune just wafting in and out. a vine like bitterness substantial and stinging rye finishes after some sweetness. a hint of iodine. a classic.

Quickly dissipating head over light brown body with a reddish tint. Pleasant roasted malt smell. Roasted malts also has a grassy, bitter hops taste. Like roasted malts over a pilsner with a few sweet notes in the mix. I liked it very much.

Much more delicious than the normal Brou Czech ("Kumbruak", the pilsener). As a sidenote, how do they get to claim in their pseudonym that they are Czech Beer, all in their entirety? Hah. Very little head. Well made for mass production. Caramel flavor, but like a dry tasting caramel beer. Nice glimmering red-brown color.
