Commercial Description:
In the US, called BrouCzech Dark.

Pyrope or Bohemian garnet stones were randomly collected in our territory by ancient Celts. It is a stone of all-binding fire, passion as well as purity of heart. However, it is generally known as a stone of love. Thanks to its typical colour, its name has been used metaphorically in connection with the colour of dark and semi-dark beers. Granat from Nova Paka is a dark sweeter lager with quality rich foam that is suitable for mixing pale types; alcohol 5%.

Bottle... wonderful dark color with a light brown head. Superb aroma! Tons of character in the mouthfeel with a bitter finish. One of my favorite beers. Hugely underrated, in my opinion.

bottle. Dark reddish-brown colour, large and very persistent head, quite creamy. Full-bodied and malty, slighlty sweet with lovely bitter hops as a contrast. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Bitter-sweet character - brilliant!

Much more delicious than the normal Brou Czech ("Kumbruak", the pilsener). As a sidenote, how do they get to claim in their pseudonym that they are Czech Beer, all in their entirety? Hah. Very little head. Well made for mass production. Caramel flavor, but like a dry tasting caramel beer. Nice glimmering red-brown color.

Labeled as Brou Czech Dark. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright garnet color with a large brown head. The aroma was sweet tangy cherries. The flavor was sweet tangy cherry, Dr Pepper and brown sugar. Interestingly nice.

A little more bitter than I expected from a Czech dunkel, a style not known for having hops in it. More roasty, too. Decent, just unexpected. I had hoped the beer’d be milder.
