Tons of character in the mouthfeel with a bitter finish. One of my favorite beers. Hugely underrated, in my opinion. Quack-Duck (3352), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany

Full-bodied and malty, slighlty sweet with lovely bitter hops as a contrast. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Bitter-sweet character - brilliant! ogreface (337), Budapest, Hungary

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2004 Much more delicious than the normal Brou Czech ("Kumbruak", the pilsener). As a sidenote, how do they get to claim in their pseudonym that they are Czech Beer, all in their entirety? Hah. Very little head. Well made for mass production. Caramel flavor, but like a dry tasting caramel beer. Nice glimmering red-brown color. FROTHINGSLOSH (2046), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Labeled as Brou Czech Dark. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright garnet color with a large brown head. The aroma was sweet tangy cherries. The flavor was sweet tangy cherry, Dr Pepper and brown sugar. Interestingly nice. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2005 A little more bitter than I expected from a Czech dunkel, a style not known for having hops in it. More roasty, too. Decent, just unexpected. I had hoped the beerd be milder.
