Also known as Brou Czech Lager

6 km far from Nova Paka, there is a ruin of the Kumburk Castle, which was built in the early 14th century by the Markvartic family. The castle was reconstructed from time to time by various owners. In the Thirty Years War, it was devastated by the Swedes and in 1658 it was destroyed at the bidding of Emperor Leopold. The caste used to be the favourite destination of poet K. H. Macha. Kumburak is a pale lager with rich taste with velvety foam, alcohol 5%.

Bottle from World of Beers gift pack and label matches BrouCzech lager alias and bottle is listed at 4%ABV. Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Aroma is slightly skunky with light grains and hops. Taste is also slightly skunky with light malt sweetness and hoppy bitter finish. Just another typical lager style beer.

Draught at Řlbaren. Clear yellow - white head. Citrus. Grassy. Cardboard. Medium hoppy. Light malty. Metallic notes. Rather bitter - spacially the finish. Nit that good.

(Bottle 0,5l) Sweet, light honey aroma. Clear dark golden color. Medium white head. Medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body. Very fizzy. Light creamy, light sticky texture. Astringent, long bitter finish.

Bottle pours clear golden with a medium white bubbly head. Aroma is grass, yeast, and honey. Taste is honey and hay into an earthy bread bitterness, almost a roasted/smoked grain flavor on the finish. Nice, flavorful and drinkable, really nice Pilsener!

A golden lager with a thin white head. A sweet malt with light signs of oxidation, light honey. In mouth, a sweet mineral malt with faint czech hops, light cardboard notes, wish I tasted this one fresher. Brouczech Lager label, BB Nov. 2010.

.5 L bottle discovered at Half Time. Aside: Half-Time seems to hace a lack luster selection from the Czech Republic...Standards mostly. An entire Aisle for Belgium (Both sides) but only a end of aisle display for this beer rich nation...WTF. Upfront hop-Centric if there is such a thing in bohemian lagers. A solid golden with steady carbonation. Nose of hops and light smoke. Thinner even head with tight connected lacing drooping closely. Light smokiness = Yum. Nice 3 way balance . Hops up front, Central bready malt and closed by smoked meat.

Rich amber color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, light hops, & subtle fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, hops, grain, and some citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; Overall, not that bad.
