COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as Brou Czech Lager

6 km far from Nova Paka, there is a ruin of the Kumburk Castle, which was built in the early 14th century by the Markvartic family. The castle was reconstructed from time to time by various owners. In the Thirty Years War, it was devastated by the Swedes and in 1658 it was destroyed at the bidding of Emperor Leopold. The caste used to be the favourite destination of poet K. H. Macha. Kumburak is a pale lager with rich taste with velvety foam, alcohol 5%.

Bottle: Pours a deep clear gold....small white cap...moderate carbonation. Rich toasty-sweet grains in the nose...reminiscent of Okocim, earthy hopping. Flavor profile is unconventional. Fuller body for a Bohemian Pils. Rich toasty malting in the front dominates until mid palate where hop bittering takes hold and gradually dominates the back side of the drink,,,,longer slowly bittering drying finish...some residual bitter after taste. It is labled as a Czech pils but this is full ahead Polish lager..very decent though.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a fast diminishing white head, bubbles clinging to the side. Grainy malty aroma, fruity, plums. Taste is more on the bitter side, fresh grassy hops with a fizzy mouthfeel.

Bottle sample- clear and bright golden, pours a medium white cap that leaves some lace. Aromas are floral, grassy, with pils malt and biscuit, with a bit of lemon. Tastes similar....biscuit and grassy hops with floral notes. Light bodied, zesty, slight bitterness on the finish. Good.

(Rated: BrouCzech Lager, green bottle) Slightly better than the average BoPils--though perhaps, with its lightness and touches of sweetness, it in fact is outside that style. Perhaps overly filtered but still crisp, clean, refreshing, and way better than macrolagers
