Also known as Brou Czech Lager

6 km far from Nova Paka, there is a ruin of the Kumburk Castle, which was built in the early 14th century by the Markvartic family. The castle was reconstructed from time to time by various owners. In the Thirty Years War, it was devastated by the Swedes and in 1658 it was destroyed at the bidding of Emperor Leopold. The caste used to be the favourite destination of poet K. H. Macha. Kumburak is a pale lager with rich taste with velvety foam, alcohol 5%.

A light yellow beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty and quite perfumated. The flavor is sweet malty and lightly metallic as well as lighlty perfumated.

Yellow coloured. Lemon aroma. Medium body, rather sweet. Not much bitterness. Does not stand out.

Pale golden, some caramel malt. Light herbal, grassy hops. Lighter version of Czech pils.

Bottle. Pale golden colour with a medium white head. Light hay aroma and taste. Light body and a grassy light bitter finish.

Draught. Deep golden colour, mediumsized white head. Sweet malty and hoppy aroma with some honeyish hints. Flavour is caramellish, sweet malts with some hops kicking in. Also some slight metallic notes. Quite good, except for the metallicness.
