COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as Brou Czech Lager

6 km far from Nova Paka, there is a ruin of the Kumburk Castle, which was built in the early 14th century by the Markvartic family. The castle was reconstructed from time to time by various owners. In the Thirty Years War, it was devastated by the Swedes and in 1658 it was destroyed at the bidding of Emperor Leopold. The caste used to be the favourite destination of poet K. H. Macha. Kumburak is a pale lager with rich taste with velvety foam, alcohol 5%.

12 oz bottle: pours light yellow in the glass with a small very bright white head. Aroma smells vaguely like bud, and tastes roughly the same. Definately not one of my favorites.

ml bottle from The Beer Store. Pours a clear golden colour with lasting white head. Aroma is rather grassy with a little sweet graininess. Flavour has crisp grassiness, grains, as well as a little butter. Slightly off but a step up from a lot of the European lagers the LCBO carries.

Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Kolding Storcenter. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, lighter notes of vegetables and light hoppy - straw. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 080313

Bottled as Brou Czech... Yellow pour, some light grass, really just ok but no distinguishing here.

Keg at U Slovanske Lipy. Pours Golden with a white head. Feint nods at Pilsner. Pretty poor though. Nothing inherently wrong with it but I did taste it after the Kouts which ultimately meant it was doomed.

Bottle, picked up at pivoteka in Pilsen. Pretty rough and industrial tasting, some hazelnut brittle and golden syrup tin with a dusty finish. Most of it ended up going into the pot of goulash I was cooking

On tap at Bohémia Söröző, Budapest. Clear, golden color with medium, creamy, wite head. Grainy pils aroma, some sipcy Saaz hop and a little mushroom flavour. Light bitter taste. Creamy texture, light carbonation, light to medium body. Light bitter finish. It’s a typical Czech tap beer: easy to drink much. Classic pils, good for drink it with friends durink long discussions. It’s a little bit worse from the others.

0.5l bottle. Clear golden body, white head. Sweet biscuity malty, grainy aroma. Sweet grainy flavor with a decent level of hoppyness and a bit metallic taste. The finish is grassy hoppy. A refreshing everyday beer, nothing much.

500ml bottle in a footed pilsner. Pours light golden with an off-white head. Aroma of pale malts and light floral hops. Flavor the same with hints of toasted malts. Light texture.. A sort of bland beer.

Light golden color, some grass notes, plenty of bitter hops, no head or lacing.
