Clear amber brown color. Medium, frothy head. Herbal and grassy aroma with distinct sour yeasty notes and light sulphurous, resinous feel. Crisp grassy hops initially, Moderate sweet molasses, caramel and liquorice mouthfeel leading to crisp herbal, slightly roasted bitternes. Light to medium bodied, lively carbonation. Quite unique.

bottle 500ml from Alko EXP 15.08.08 color:dark brown reddish,Light brown head disappears fast ,no lace Taste:sweeet dark roasted malts, in sticky aftertaste some hints of hops. Hmm, maybe i give it another chance on next Easter if it is available. This bottle might be bit over aged.

Ibrew2or3 (6843) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 3, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours clear brown-ish amber with thin tan head. The aroma is fruity with plums, cherries, prunes and raisins. Very little malt noticed. The taste is mildly fruity with esters moving into a note of malt astringency tartness then a pretty solid smokiness. Midway and into the finish a Munich like grainy malt rises up to join the smoke sensation. Pretty cool.

Bottle courtesy CigarCityBrew. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and light roasted malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good.

Bottled. Deep ruby colour (near black), small beigeish brown head. Aroma is mild caramel malts, sugar and some balancing mild notes of hops. Flavour is much the same. Compared to the Velikonoční Podkrkonošsky Speciál Tmavý, this one lacks the candyish sweetness and pretty much the roasted notes.
Earlier Rating: 4/3/2007 Total Score: 3.3
Bottled. Dark rubyish brown colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel and some sweet dark sugary notes. Flavour is caramel, toffee, slightly roaste dmalts and some hops. Candyish sweetness lurking in the background. Not too bad.

A Budapesti Cseh Sörfesztivál egyik legjobb söre volt az én számomra!Finom pörkölt magos, kávés és nem túl édes!Nagy kár hogy egyenlőre csak a fesztivál idején lehetett kapni!

Light brown head disappears fast but leaves nice lacing. Color is dark reddish-brown. Aroma is sweet and a bit roasted malts. Sweet malts and smoke in flavor. Aftertaste is dry and bitter. Flavor contains also some odd nuances.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAR 24, 2008
Opaque ruby, disappearing foamy head. Nose is dark fruits, some herbs and all sorts of vegetables. Stuffy/earthy overall tone. Flavor has burned malts, some liquorice, dark fruits and herbs. Finishes dry, with ashy and burned bitterness, a bit porter like even. Medium bodied with quite big bubbled and coarse carbonation. Strange.
