2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From tap at the restaurant. Pours hazy orange with a one finger thick white head. Light bitterhops aroma. Flavour is mild to distinct butterish. Light due to the alcohol and yet medium dry and bitter. Ends medium dry with a continued butterish note.

Moderated sweet and light bitter flavor. Sweet malty finish with a mild dry and bitter end.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings.
How: Tap at Novomestsky Pivovar brewpub (Prague)
The look: Cloudy blonde body with a medium white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 11° and below is: Well malted body with lots of smooth cereals and a light fresh honey sweetness flavour. Some fruity notes (more fruity notes than in the 12°+) with mostly citrus fruits and a little lemon. The finish is somewhat herbal and citrusy with but unlike the 12°+ there is only a hint of the dry grassy bitterness usually associated with noble/Saaz hops. Bitterness is mild and does not really play a big role in the overall flavours spectrum. A light meringue sensation and an overall freshness impression.. Carbonation is typically very soft. These beers are low in intensity but very refreshing and drinkable in scarily large quantities.
This one: As above but with an undesirable high lemony acidity and overall lack of hops presence.

(Rating #1508)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), trace yeast (dough), with a note of soap.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation.
Pity about the soapy note in the nose, ’cause otherwise it’s pretty enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy gold-amber with a big pillowy white head. Very fresh yeasty, unfiltered aroma, bit of grassy hops, but its a bit un-matured as well. the flavor is light and pretty dry with a crisp bitterness. the mouth-feel is creamy with really small bubbles. went well with food, as the subtle flavors were a compliment and didn’t clash, but overall it was a little to disorganized.

I drank this little baby in the same-named micro brewery/restaurant in Prague. I was very impressed. It tasted of a typical micro bewery and had that home brew appearance. Very hazy and quite hoppy, quiote fruity too. Just an all round good beer. Somebody below described this as "meaty" in taste; I was disgree for this one, but would agree in terms of the Dunkel version. The restaurant is good too in a Czech kind of way.
