Draught, Novomestsky/Praha. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium to dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread, cocoa, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. More soap in this one, though not as much as the svetly. Watery and bland.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy medium-dark brown with a fluffy white head. Sweet molasses, spice and a weird funkiness in the aroma; a little off. Sweet flavor with some roast and nuttiness. Medium body with prickly carbonation. A little odd for a dunkel, and not as good as the svetle in my opinion.

I drank this piece in the same-named micro brewery/restaurant in Prague. I didn’t like this anywhere as much as the Pilsner. It had a very yeasty almost fleshy taste. I still drunk it though, so can’t be all bad!

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown - light brown head. Ryebread, licorice, chokolate, thin body & finish. Too high carbonated. Thin & boring.

Hazy brown coloured, medium sized lasting pale beige head. Mild roasted malt and sweet caramel aroma with some subdued hop and yeast notes. Watery palate. Dry finish.

Somewhat hazy amber color, nice lasting offwhite head. Malty aroma, but also yeast enough to make me suggest this wasnt the perfect brew. Hoppy flavor, grassy and metallic.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2006 Draught in da pub. Pitch black, beautiful creamy tan head. Sweet floral hoppy, roasty aroma. Dry, hoppy, delicious taste. Full-bodied, some chocolate and coffee, dry hoppy creamy finish. Superb.

Draught at the brewpub in May 2006.
Shady dark brown to black color. Big beige head, creamy and lasting. Not much scent. Normal mouthfeel and bitterness. Rather nice beer, but not truly exceptional.

As "Novomestsky Kvasnicovy lezak tmavy"
Clear deep ruby red color, big creamy tan head. Acidic and butterscotch scent. Acidic, butterscotch, sweet and grainy taste. Some coffee and cocoa aftertaste. Rather dry. Medium mouthfeel though to the smooth side. Medium bitterness.

tap at brewpub.Light dark roasty nose, very faint aroma. Appearance: dark, muddy brown with neat creamy top. Super clean dark roasty character, slightly sharper than average but still superbly smooth and drinkable. Clean smooth finish. I loved that dry mocha in the middle.
