Somewhat hazy amber color, nice lasting offwhite head. Malty aroma, but also yeast enough to make me suggest this wasnt the perfect brew. Hoppy flavor, grassy and metallic.

Draught at the brewpub in May 2006.
Shady dark brown to black color. Big beige head, creamy and lasting. Not much scent. Normal mouthfeel and bitterness. Rather nice beer, but not truly exceptional.

As "Novomestsky Kvasnicovy lezak tmavy"
Clear deep ruby red color, big creamy tan head. Acidic and butterscotch scent. Acidic, butterscotch, sweet and grainy taste. Some coffee and cocoa aftertaste. Rather dry. Medium mouthfeel though to the smooth side. Medium bitterness.

tap at brewpub.Light dark roasty nose, very faint aroma. Appearance: dark, muddy brown with neat creamy top. Super clean dark roasty character, slightly sharper than average but still superbly smooth and drinkable. Clean smooth finish. I loved that dry mocha in the middle.

On tap at the brew pub. Ruby/chestnut with lasting thick beige head. Like a lot of these beers, lots of toffee, bit watery in mouth, a bit of hop one the end. But the toffee isn’t integrated and flies around giong nowhere. Not enough malt burnt/roasted flavours nor body. Not as good as the blond

larsga (6684) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 6, 2006
Big offwhite creamy head; dark brown almost black hazy body. Roasty, yeasty, acidic aroma. Taste is much like the aroma and a bit dry. Not really a very successful beer. (On tap.)

Tap (@the brewery): Hazy, dark amber to brownish coloured, lacing off-white foam; yeast, roast malt and sweet caramel in the nose; slightly sweetish and faint bitter flavour, quite light bodied; a bit dryer, short malty finish with an illusion of bitterness. Well drinkable, but not overwhelming...............

On tap at the brew house. Pours almost black with a talll light tan head. Light roastiness and very smooth body with a bit of a fruity estery finish, maybe cherry and bread with a bit of chocolate up front. Very silky on the palate with a nice balance to it.
