3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
75 cl bottle.
Hazy pale golden colour, with a big cottony head. Clearly very bread/yeasty aroma with hints of citrus. Bit raw in aroma profile. Good fruity flavour with dough and yeast. Hints of light caramel. Fluffy, big-ish mouthfeel, at least at this abv-level. Very reminiscent of those blonde Abbey beers. Light sweet and semi-dry. No cellar in this one. It ought to be aged for at least half a year.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle) Pours golden. Yeasty aroma with bread dough and damp basement notes. Herbal/spicy notes of coriander, clove and some grass are also present. Light citrusy with lemon and oranges up front. Some fruity undertones with hints of banana. Yeasty, doughy flavour with a subtle fruitiness. Rather buttery mouthfeel with a lot of bubbly carbonation. Light grassy and herbal/coriander in the flavour as well. Round, medium full body. An ok beer without any surprise party’s.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown 33cl bottle, best before 31st Dec 2012. Poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ stemmed tulip. This is the first beer in an ’odd ball reviewing evening’ (June 2011).
Almost pilsner in looks, bright golden yellow with a good deep snow white foaming head. I left the sediment in the bottle, hence the clean, clear appearance.
The yeasty aroma tells you it isn’t a pilsner, the smell is a good blend of mixed herbs and spices along with the yeast esters.
The flavours found in the smell are all there within the taste also, lovely well balanced brew which has good carbonisation and an alcohol content that is happy to stay in the background rather than taking over like some beers within this style. A peppery feel in the aftertatse, very pleasant.
A good beer, easy to drink and one of the best I’ve had from France (who as brewers are going up in my estimation).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice orange/copper with a flufy white head. Aroma is sweet and spicey. Wheat, citrus, and refreshing fruit. Mouth is nice and creamy, but with the right amount of carbonation. Flavor is citrus, apple peel, yeast, and earthy. Finish is very dry. A very enjoyable brew.
