"Vintage Blond Ale"
Perfect for tasting, as an aperitif or an after-dinner drink. A high quality beer with subtle but powerful flavours which is the result of a unique recipe and brewering method. It is ideally suited to be served with cheeses washed with the same beer.

8/IX/13 - 75cl bottle @ Blakken PicNic - BB: 30/VI/15 (2013-841) Thanks to Katie and Kevin for sharing the bottle!

Clear ruby red to orange beer, nice creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of orange peel, bit sugary, bit soapy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, orange peel, floral, some honey, sugary, spices. Aftertaste: caramel, sugary, orange peel, sweet malts, some honey, red fruit jam. Not too bad. But is this a bière de garde??

Bottle from GBBF 2013 and drunk at home. Clear amber with thick ivory coloured head. It’s a slightly malty beer. Toffee, malt, some fizziness on the finish. Some white pepper hop or aroma and on finish. It’s tasty. I like it. Good toffee.

J’adore! I love it!

750ml corked dark brown bottle. Gift. I do dislike corked Bière de Garde bottles - the cork head is so small, it’s really hard to work the cork out. It’s a question of pushing at the cork with the thumbs gradually working it loose. Tiresome business. The beer is quite a pleasant blond beer. Quite largerish in that it is quite light and drinkable with little hop influence, and little robust flavour. There are some perfumed qualities from the yeast and the strength of the beer - 8% abv. It’s a drinkable and attractive beer, but nothing really noteworthy. The presentation of the bottle makes it appear as though the brewer wants to market it as having the prestige of a premier French wine. That’s sad.

75 cl bottle [thanks to mum and dad bringing this from holiday last summer] @ home. Clear yellow to golden color, huge white head consisting out of fairly large bubbles leaving fair to good lacing. Smell malts, slightly grains, slightly blossom, unripe fruits, green apples and some berries. Taste malts, a bit sweet-bitter, some fruitpeel, unripe fruits and lightly grains. Medium carbonation, medium body. Quite decent.

Very hazy orange beer, short lived white head. Sweet malt and dried orange nose. Light semi crisp palate, turning softer. Sweet malt, a little nutty. Semi sweet orange with subtle dried apricot and peach. Minerals. Dry finish - prickly carbonation. Well joined up and drinkable. Went great with assorted cheeses!
