COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle
Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij until 2005
Made in association with Philippe Olivier, a master cheesemaker, to accompany the cheeses made in the region.

Pours a hazy orange body with tiny floaties and a thin bubbly white head. Aroma of oranges, yeast and spices. Flavor of oranges, yeast and spices. The body is light to medium and the carbonation is lively.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2011 Bottle from La Fromagerie, Marlebone Village. Pours slightly hazy orange with a huge foaming head. Nose is a beautiful deep buttery toffee malt aroma. Like buttered popcorn, but deeper and more roasted. Also some cereal and freshly baked biscuit in there. Taste is crisp buttery malt and subtle grassy hop bitterness. Would go great with a gooey french cheese. (not sure why this is down as a whitbier. If you ask me it’s abbey tripel)

Couldn’t resist a bottle meant for cheese pairing, bought at the Traditions en Nord shop in Cassel. Pleasant, sweetish, fruity nose with bits of appleskin and core. Quite malty, honey and light caramel, without being overly sweet. Fair bitterness and touch of alcohol heat. A bit of coriander, I think. With the cheese: sweetness works well with a salty selection. Big enough beer for it, too. Bubble action helps with the creamier ones too.

Bottle from La Fromagerie in Marylebone, eaten with cheese toasties! Don’t know why but expectations were low. Bright golden colour, thin white foam. Initially malty, toasted, a little boozy, firm, sweet. Some pleasant yeasty character. Light hopping. Very pleasant, a reasonably complex example of the style.

Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Huge, frothy, white head. Excellent lacing. Clear, yellow body. Heavy sweet flavor with notes of hops. Medium palate.

Belle réalisation que cette bière à Frometon. Une blonde plutôt classique mais qui se marie vraiment très bien avec le fromage.

Interesting concept I found in a cheeze shop in Clermont-Ferrand, France. A Beer specifically crafted to pair off with cheese. Why not?

Golden Orange, with a pearly white head with gorgeous honey-comb bubbles that were perfectly aligned one next to the other. I like that I lot, it taps into my cathesian side...
Loaves of bread and orange juice, with just a hint of holiday spices.
Wheaty and fruity, the citrus aftertaste reminded me of mandarin oranges in light syrup. Quite a refreshing wit and well done from yet another French brewer I’ve never heard of before.
