A stout made with roasted barley, tonic and invigorating, with a well-conditioned, slight but distinctive bitterness. Noire de Stack is perfect for beer-tasting and goes very well with smoked fish, oysters and delicatessen meats.

malt, caramel, coffee, black/brown, brown foam, medium bitterness, medium body, average carbonation, Bottled. A classic brown beer. Strong coffee, plus some caramel and malt. Good thing is that she’s not violent: 5.4° . Rare for a brown beer.

Shared 750 ml corked and wired bottle, as Christophe Noyon Bière Noire de Slack, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV 5.4%. Black colour, decent beige head. Dry roasty and ashy aroma. Dry, moderately roasty and slightly ashy flavour. The hops are too moderate, otherwise a decent dry stout. .

bottle from Calais Vins. Deep brown/black colour, mid-sized brown-beigehead. Aroma of licorice and coffee. Light-bodied, shy malt flavours, lots of espresso coffee and licorice, hints of caramel and cocoa powder, perhaps bitter chocolate. Smooth palate.

Bottle with cork 0,75ltr: Black coloured brew with an good taste of roasted malts and coffee. Also some smokey flavour in the beer too. Irish blackness meets Bambergian smokiness at the French Côte d’Opale.

Bottle@Home. Strong coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate. Black, light brown head, good lace. Sweetish, light bitter, malty, lots of coffee, licorice wood, hint of vanilla. Flavourful, easy, balanced.

Bottle 33 cl bought @ Birroteca Hops (Avellino, Italy). Solid black thick, plentiful beige-brown expansive foam. Aroma of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, licorice, peat, some smoked notes. Medium body, creamy with hint of vanilla. Loads of roasted malt, something sweet like an oatmeal stout, molasses. coffee again. Lightly fruity. Dry in the finish, citrus and hops present. Not much interesting, but balanced and well-made in the end.

Bottle from Carrefour, Coquelles, Citi Europe 21.03.11 consumed 27.03.11 Pours very dark brown but there are noticeable ruby glints towards the bottom of the glass. Large head, frothy and light beige in colour. Nutty & smokey in mouth, lightly roasted, some sweetness although there is also a tart sour tang at the edges. Its ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate with a spicy touch. Sweet flavour mostly licorice but with some charcoal/roasted character.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours black with a huge creamy beige head. Aroma is weak roasted malts, chocolate and fresh bread. Taste is dark chocolate with some light roasted notes towards the end. Medium/thin bodied.
