COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered.
Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij until 2005
A stout made with roasted barley, tonic and invigorating, with a well-conditioned, slight but distinctive bitterness. Noire de Stack is perfect for beer-tasting and goes very well with smoked fish, oysters and delicatessen meats.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A clear, dark ruby beer pouring with a dense, beige head. Some sourness in the aroma, as well as chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Chocolate, coffee, some sourness and bitterness in the flavor. Dry, slightly sour finish. Sure, itís drinkable and all that, but itís just not up there. (080215)

750 ml bottle. Dark red, almost black body with a big beige head. Relatively vague aroma of roasted malt and liquorices. Flavor is roasted malt, liquorices and seaweed. Not very harmonic in my opinion.

Bottle @ YNWA. Pours a deep blackish with a small film head. Aroma is roasted - slightly spicy and fruity as well. Raisins and plums. Flavour is surprisingly powerful for the ABV, very crispy caramel, chocolate and spicy. Could do with some more body, but the current 2.79 rating is far too low.

faroeviking (10293) - FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 27, 2007
75 cl. corked bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a huge creamy and bubbly pretty well lasting head. Aroma of spices and roasted malt with chocolate. Roasty slightly sour flavour with some chocolate, spices and liquorice. Bit dry roasty finish with some spices. Starts ok but in fact its flat and ends not so good as a stout basically should. A blended brew of good Schwartz bier and a Biére de Garde. I suspected a better beer than this.

Very dark brown body, beige head, some laces; Strange very fruity nose, some sweet chocolate, but most of all bad dry Sherry aromas; Very thin body, soft texture, very little feel; Some length in very thin finish, some dark chocolate aroma, almost weizen like banana aromas as well. Very thin beer in any sense.
