Noir c’est Noir ! Une stout au noir intense et a la belle mousse persistante. Les aromes traditionnels de cafe et de chocolat montent vite au nez et se retrouvent egalement sur le final. Une belle rondeur et un equilibre bien travaille. Elle sent "la mer" cette belle Stout des 2 Caps !

Thx for a great tasting, Kim Johansen... it will never be the same again :-) Dark w tiny head. Little smoky malty aroma, notes of chocolate and spices. Flavour is sweet. More smoke in finish.

Bottle with cork 0,75ltr: Black coloured brew with an good taste of roasted malts and coffee. Also some smokey flavour in the beer too. Irish blackness meets Bambergian smokiness at the French Côte d’Opale.

Bottled. Very deep brown, close to black with mediumsized foamy/fluffy head. Aroma is liquorice, some mild old coffeelike sourness as well as some slight grassy and floral notes. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, ashes and some caramel/toffeelike notes. Actually a very pleasant Stout.

<i>Bottled. </i> Dark ruby/black, rich firm beige head. Aroma of coffee and dusty fruit salad. Very dry with light body and rounded mouthfeel. There’s chocolatey with some toffee, fairly low bitterness. A velvetty very drinkable dry stout!

Bottle: Big vast fluffy light brown to tan head on top of a black beer. Smell vanilla, roasted malts, coffee, hints of coal, smoke and dark fruits. Taste is a watery mix of coffee, roasted malts, light liquorice, light coal, hint of spices and a hint of earth. A good bitter aftertaste with slight hints of coffee and herbs. Low to medium carbo, soft light tingly mouthfeel, watery body and texture. If the body was thicker and more towards creamy oily, this would be a very good stout. Nonetheless still ok.

Bottle@Home. Strong coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate. Black, light brown head, good lace. Sweetish, light bitter, malty, lots of coffee, licorice wood, hint of vanilla. Flavourful, easy, balanced.

Bottle @ benzai. Dark brown to black color with some redness shining through. Smells roasty mostly.. Not much more, but thats not a bad thing. Tastes lovely roasty, coffee and some oatmeal aftertaste. Quite a nice stout. Medium body (not bad for its abv), nice carbo.

(33 cl bottle from Brdr. D; Batch 211; BBD: December 31st 2013) Pours black with medium, creamy, toffee head. Good lace and retention. A pleasant aroma that is mostly roasted malt with perhaps some coffee notes. Creamy texture, medium carbonation, medium body with a roasted finish. Flavour is balanced and relatively dry. Neither bitter nor sweet. A pleasant and quite drinkable stout for the ABV.

Bottle from La Bon Marche. Pours very dark brown with a three-finger tan head. It laces. Darkly roasted caramel aroma. Medium body with moderate carbonation. It’s very nutty with smooth dark roast malt. Could be mild fruits in here. Bit of chocolate. Very flavorful, but light, stout. Not exactly dry.
