VENOM (941), Connecticut, USA Nov 21, 2001 Solid brew. Fresh and crisp at first with a nice hop flavor, earthy and citric. Fruity yeastiness kept at bay by the seemless malt/hop balance. Nice toasted, nutty and sweet mix of malts. Creamier when warmer. Extremely drinkable. krisbierjaeger (837), dolores, Colorado, USA Feb 2, 2002 nice beer that i’m afraid i’ll finish before i can rate it. i beg to differ with the commercial discription: ’brilliantly clear’, if this was your windshield, you’d wreck way before the end of the driveway, but it’d be almost worth it. it’s hazy orange, with a yellow glow where the light gets through. delicious pear and caramel aroma, not sweet enough to flambe, thankfully. maybe it’s just ’cause it’s my first beer after a workout, but i believe finishing it in a couple choking inhalations would be rewarding and charming. too spry to be an ’old man’, yet having sophisticated depth, they should call it prime of life ale or something. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Dec 28, 2005 12 oz bottle-pours a foamy light tan head. Color is clear gold-copper. Aroma is syrupy, dark fruit. Taste is malty, sugar. Nice mellow taste. Best by 12/05. Shazbat (100), USA Feb 6, 2001 What a great amber brew, smooth and more full bodied than Killians, I think it would be even more favorable from tap. Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland May 2, 2005 clear amber colour, little foam, floral and fruity (apricot) hoppiness, medium-bodied, a bit oily, very bitter, long dry bitter aftertaste with notes of litchies
