2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very deep amber body with a beige head that laces the glass well. Quite strong aroma of caramel, malt extract, sweet generic fruits and hints of prunes. Fairly strong flavour of caramel and generic fruits. Moderate sweet taste with a reasonably long-lived light to moderate bitter finish. Light body, a bit thin and watery, soft carbonation, some dryness. Well, ok, I guess.
[50 cl can as Pivovar Nymburk Praha Tmavý Dark Beer Dunkel, enjoyed 7 months after bottling...eh... canning, from Meny Frederikshavn, Jylland]

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Lovely nougat colored foam that fades to a thin layer in a short time. The smell is chocolate malt, dark dried fruits and a little coffee. The taste is hard roasted malt and light taste of dark chocolate. Hop bitterness is very withdrawn and maintains its sweet malt flavor for a long time. Actually, it resembles more of a schwarzbier than a dark lager, and it is not the first time I see this comparison in Czech dark lagers. Lovely rich and very tasty dark lager.

Is the same as Nymburk Bryggeri: 1895 - Praha Imavy - Dark Beer Dunkel, this is what's rated. An almost black lager with high creamy head. Aroma is caramel, malty, roasted, coffee, chocolate? Taste is bitter sweet.
