Dark reddish brown with huge, thick head. Roasty coffee aroma with notes of butter and smoked ham. Very roasty coffee flavour, a bit one dimensional. Bitter finish. A nice Dunkel after all.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aromas of coffe, licorice and malt. Taste is much coffe/mocca. Low carbonation. The end is mostly sweet, with little bitterness. (050923)

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany-coloured with a small, weak light-brown head. Slightly burned aromas from the dark, roasted malt and a dry, lasting hoppiness. Some underlying sweetness - partly from the added saccharin. 191004

Bottle. Dark amber colour with a medium baige head. Light roasted caramel malty aroma and a light roasted sweet caramel coffee malty taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

Very good Czech dunkel - full-bodied pleasant taste and a good aroma. A++ will drink again :)

Draught in Prague, in a barrack called "U Viaduktu", in district Holesovice. Dark brown. Caramel and coffee notes. Light bodied. Medium bitter. Sweetish.

(on bottle)"I like tose sweet czechs, honey; let´s try that one with the odd spelling on the label". And we did. Not a big beer, bigbubbeld, disapearing head. Brown, seetrough color. Only entertaining is the slight burnt caramel in the aftertaste.

Bottle, DBF 2004. Bronze red, moderate off white head and gentle condition. Some sweet malt and a low touch of roasted barley in the nose, caramel and grain in the mouth with some bitterness that is more roast barley than hop in the finish, but still quite sweet.

Dark amber color. Very poor aroma and flavor, just burnt sugar taste, with a similar (caramel) final.

Bottled. Nut brown. Apple aroma, Sweet, thin, mellow and lightly roasty. Cellar and mashed apples dominate.
