Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

Can’t remember who sent this to me, but thanks! Pours a clear syrupy amber with a gray head that dissipates completely. Aroma is full of sweet grains and caramel with just a hint of light fruit. Flavor begins with light fruit but is full of caramel, toffee and sweet grains with a hint of backing alcohol.

Bottle(kindly donated by Jonas!): Amber, hazy, small off-white foamy layer, sweet nutty-caramelly nose , some dried figues and raisins detectable, pretty well hidden alcohol underneath; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour with a full body; sweet raisins in the finish, later a distinctive hoppy tail. A very well drinkable Barley Wine…

(bottle, 25cl) Hazy, dark amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Sweet and (chest-)nutty malty aroma with dried fruits, figs and a vinous alcoholic background. Sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, full bodied with a pleasantly smooth carbonation. Hearty and mildly toasted malty base with loads of nuts, soaked biscuits, caramel and dried fruits; sweet and delicately bitter, slightly vinous fruity finish with a warming touch of alcohol. Very pleasant. 29.II.12

0.25L bottle, brought home from Systembolaget, Nordstan. A layer of big beige bubbles, covering a clear reddish brown body. Intense aroma of caramel and fruit-scented hops. Sweet, with faint pepper tones. Taste is sweet caramelly and substantially fruity/resiny bitter. Medium full. Oily texture. Tight bitterness linger in a lasting finish. A straightforward, tasty and rock solid Barley Wine.

Riktigt god.

On tap at Avenue Pub. Pours a cloudy copper with a small creamy off white head. The aroma is a vanilla and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and vanilla oak. Easy to drink Hiding alcohol really well. A very good barleywine.

1/21/12. On tap. Red pour with a small khaki head. Sweet caramel aroma with brown sugar and maybe a touch of oxidation. Very nice flavor that shows sweet fruits, dark fruits, brown sugar, and more. Quite nice!

20/11 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, well, great thanks for sharing! It poured reddish body with small head. Oak and almond aroma, notes of caramel, chestnut, palm wood. Sweetish caramel flavor, dried figs, has some alcoholic bite, but not too harsh, surprisingly quite simple, but pleasant. Medium sticky body with lower carbonation and long sweetish finish. Warming of course. Really pleasant barley wine, aged just enough to eliminate usual rawness of the style. Thumb up.

Bottle, 2009 edition. Pours a clear nougat brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is reminiscent of hard, cream-based caramel ("knekk" in Norwegian) with nougat, whale nuts and hints of molasses and vanilla. Taste is burnt caramel, "knekk" again, wood, vanilla, port wine, molasses and hints of alcohol and deep malts. Amazingly complex and nice. Smooth, creamy palate befitting the cream-caramel-wood-port profile that’s being dished out over my taste buds with each sip. Truly delicious and a fantastic surprise from Nynäshamn - I’m gonna get this again if I can!
