Bottle from Systembolaget, 2011 vintage.
Pours a dark amber with a off white lacing.
Pear, caramel malt, figs, sweet and floral hoppy notes to the nose.
Taste is dominated by caramel malt but there’s apricot, figs and some raisin as well. A notable warming alcohol sensation at the end which is a bit dry as well as bitter. Medium body, low carbonation.
A bit thinner than expected but still a good barley wine.
2010 vintage has caramel malt and bitter orange marmalade and sweetness all over the nose. Taste is sweet malty with raisins and plums and also has some dry chocolate and wood to it. Heating sensation at the end. Thicker feel than the 2011 vintage.

Amber to red colored beer. Nose of oxydation, lots of fruits and some alcohol. Fruity flavors but also port and madeira from the oxydation. Complex and well balanced beer.

Nice rubbish colour. Taste of raisins, honey, caramel and dried fruits. Well balanced. Not owerly sweet.

Smells of dried fruit, raisins. Brown in color with a small head. Taste of dried fruit, honey, alcohol.

Bottle 25cl 2010. Pours dark amber with a small beige head. Massive aroma of dates, raisins, port, honey and some alcohol. Sweet taste of dried fruits, figs, root cellar, earth and ripe apples. Medium/full body, low carbonation, low bitterness. Very nice when matured for a few years!

Kraftig och komplex doft med plommon, russin, karamellierad malt och en viss jästton.
En vacker kopparaktigt brun färg och ett för typen vanligt snabbt försvinnande skum.
Smaken domineras av en komplex malt där även toner av melass, honung och kola finns. Alkoholen märks men avrundat behaglig snarare än vass.
Känslan är fyllig och fet, närmast oljig.
Eftersmaken bjuder på en träton och en avklingande söt malt.
På det hela taget en ok barley wine med mer maltkraft än elegans.

Bottle @ buitenlust. Aroma has big bread and caramel with some fruity notes. Flavour is roasty caramel, fruits, some bready notes. Good stuff.

25cl bottle from Angst as part of Secret Santa from 2011. Clear mahogany with a light biege head that fades to a ring. Plum, slightly fermented apples, brown sugar, a bit of raisin, booze. Mild carbonation, moderate but hot body, somewhat sweet, becomes dry, more plum and a bit of prune come through on the finish as the alcohol warms you up.

Year 2011. Pours red brown with small white head. Aroma of apples, ripe fruit, plums. Taste of ripe fruits, plums, malts and some sting of alcohol. It hits with full body but its a bit abrupt in the end, it misses some bitterness.
