Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

Bottle. The golden foam is just lovely! And the aroma gives you everything you want of sweet dried fruits. The taste is not that special... yet... its a little too sharp just now, but I bet this well develope in the cellar.

Small cream head, gone in secs over foxy-red beer. Grapey hops, light caramel, cake, resin, bit soapy, with a hint at cinnamon. Sweet, syrupy, caramely with bitterish-resiny touch in the finish, like grapefruitjuice, reduced with brown sugar. Viscous, oily on the lips, and a hint at astringency. Flavours coming together, however. Decent, very USA hopped-like Barley Wine. It seems to miss some body, but nips away nicely.

A clear brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of caramel, coffee candy. There are spices with dark fruits. The taste of caramel, a little sticky. It’s spicy with some bitter. The aftertaste is some bitter with hints of sweet and spicy.

25cl bottle into a snifter at Glenfiddich warehouse #68 Stockholm. The beer pours a super light brown, totally clear with hints of amber, just looks watery and unappealing. Total lack of head, no lacing...Aroma smells like a typical bw but with too much alcohol. Caramel, alcohol, light hop finish...The taste is super light, that’s the first thing, annoyingly so and distracting. Alcohol shows through too much, light caramel and a touch of hops...Feel is bad as we mentioned, however this is super easy to drink at 9.1%. Ok and easy to drink bw but nothing to search out for. If you’re in Sweden at a local place worth a shot.

2010 Vintage. 25 cl Bottle at Dahlbergs, Helsingborg. August 2011.
Deep red colour with a thick firm head. Fruity rich aromas of raspberries, candied sugar, butterscotch and caramel. There is a nice lingering sweetness in the nose. Unique and interesting aroma. Full bodied but quite flat due to the lack of carbonation, this also makes it a bit sticky but luckily it’s not a disaster. I have a feeling the carbonation might have transpired so it could be that it’s better drunken fresh. Other the that it’s all good. The balance and flavours are nice. It does have a nice fruity character with flavours of figs, grapes and berries - there is also some caramel and toffee action. Long and sweet aftertaste.
