tap at Stora öl - små bryggerier, Malmö noted down as "nynäshamns Brown ale" sampled towards the end of the saturday of the festival, perhaps they’ve been changing a keg. Perhaps I’m ticking the wrong beer, if they have another brown ale. Clear amber, small beige head. mild caramelly aroma. some flowers, flavor is malts, flowers, dryness, caramel, fruits.quite quenching.

Draught @ The Rover. Pours deep amber with a thick brown/white/gray head that leaves some trace on the glass while slowly dissipating. smell is malty with caramel, lemon zest and cheap coffee. Taste is malty and metallic with dark bread, lemon zest and apricot. Finish is malty with bread and metal.

50cl bottle via trade with SaintMatty, thanks Matt. Clear amber brown colour, off white head. Aroma of caramel, light fruity, plastic. Flavour is malty, caramel, light spicy, hint of plastic, light fruity, bitter finish. Light bodied, above average carbonation. Just OK.

Vignale (2709) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 24, 2011
Drucken på fat på Green Lion Inn i Malmö. Real ale karaktär, inget skum, rumstempererad, kastanjebrun. Doft av läder och malt. Smak av läder, nötter, malt. Lite syrlig, något beskare än engelska förlagor. Lite märklig men mycket smakrik.

tap @ Bishops Arms, Västerås. Pours clear dark ruby brown with small off white head leaving nice lace. Heavy of roasted malts, nice slight coffee and chocolate aroma with hints of caramel. Flavor is roasted malts, sweet caramel, fruity perry, crispy and a bit acidy. Finishes somewhat acidy sourish fruity and bitter tart.

Draft at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden. Aroma has a lot of caramel and a little hoppy floral notes. Poured a dark amber, brownish, colour with a thick white foam, very creamy. Taste is sweet and a little bitter and spicy, very drinkable. Feels light bodied but very pleasant.

Bottle. Clear redish brown with a compact dirt white head that sticks pretty good to the glass. Bready and a bit spicy aroma with some wilted weeds and citrus. Pommerans and clove. A bit burnt butterscotch in the taste with a moderate sweetness. Bready taste with some citrus and apple (?) and a certain spiciness. A bit watery in the middle. Dry bitter ending. Body is a bit thin with low carbonation and small bubbles. Easy drinking and quite tasty but a bit too thin and forgettable.

LoFi (1700) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 28, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2011 Draught. Reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma nuts, spices, fruit. Taste: fruit, nuts, perhaps oranges and citrus, maybe berries, the usual Nynäshamn spiciness, low bitterness. Medium-bodied, medium to lively carbonation. Works, but not among the best in the style.

TheJestersBeer (2291) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2011
Bottle. Pours a clear, light copper red, with a brownish hue, and a light, creamy white head. A bit too light on the Brown Ale scale. The nose is quite hoppy, with hints of yeast (Belgo?) and smoke/ashes, against a fruity, malty background comprising roasted notes and faint hints of toffee. Medium bodied, off-dry, rather fruity, with a balanced bitterness. Again, rosted malt, vague hints of toffee, on the hoppy side, yeast aromas return. Judged as a Brown Ale, it is a bit too light in both colour and body, and lacks the heavy fruitiness and the toffee/caramel notes. As a beer in general, it’s quite enjoyable. (Rated on 2010-08-19)
