2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Glenfiddich Warehouse No. 68, Stockholm. Aroma has some floral notes but mostly the malt powers through with a lot of bread and roasted tones. It looks beautiful though, mine was served in a snifter and it looked perfectly reddish with a nice white foam. The taste is where it lacks though, DIPAs and IPAs are generally my favorite types but this one was nothing of what I expected. The malty sweetness is there and it feels very full and rich in the mouth but the bitterness is almost nonexistent, very disappointing for a DIPA.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2011 Draught (Oliver Twist, Stockholm) - Copper coloured. Pine, toffee, passion fruit and grapefruit in the aroma. Sweet and hoppy taste with peach, passion fruit, toffee and dried fruit. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is.

0,25 l bottle, thanks Ompher!.
Poured opalescent deep amber-mahagony with an allury tan, creamy head. Balanced aroma with honey and raisins, caramel, fig, cinnamon and vanilla, some cocoa, and the fine resiny-citrussy herbal hops. Caramel based beer with a powerful resiny-herbal hop character, raisins and honey in the background.

250ml bottle, trade with Omhper. Frothy and bubbly off-white head with a solid stand lacing the glass as it goes down. Clear, amber body. Rounded and pleasant aroma of fruity hops. Orange, pineapple and lemon included in the hoppy taste profile sustained by caramel malts. Long-lived, smooth bitter ending. Well balanced. Good drinking (Tromsø, 09.10.2010).

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20

UPDATED: APR 5, 2012 Re-rated in 2012. I thought this beer lacked both hop aroma and bitterness last year. I got the same experience this year but I also sense some boiled vegetables in the smell. Also a fair amount of sweet candy aromas. Someone said "sockerbitar" which is probably fairly close to what Im sensing. Ok beer but not what you would expect when you open a bottle of DIPA.

courtesy of Per - very slightly hazy reddish-amber colour under a solid and persistent creamy beige foam; nice lacework; malty and nutty with a solid hoppiness showing notes of red fruits marmalade; moderate carbonation and a fair malt body; slightly sticky and with a high but not aggressive bitterness; the finish shows a nice balance between malts and hops
