(Draught) Pours dark copper amber with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is big time woodsy spicy with notes of nutmeg and mild ginger up front. Undertones of cookie-like, toasted and light caramelly malt alongside mild herbal, earthy and floral hints. A whisper of pear esters shines through when you spin the glass. The flavour is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of spices, wood, earth, herbs, light fruits, light caramel, cookies, and citrus. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with a medium carbonation. Low on sweetness without being that dry. Spicy and woodsy finish. Medium bodied.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gyllenbock (1908) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 7, 2009
On tap at Glenfiddish Warehouse No 68.
Nynäshamns ESB was interesting, not at all as I had expected. Initially I got a little vibe of a barley wine but then it got more flavors of yeast and something sweet, like honey. Not unlike an IPA in the end, bitterness tickled nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ljunkan (521) - Drammen, NORWAY - APR 15, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2009 On tap at Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Pours a light amber color with a small white head. Fruity, toffee, caramel, spicey (yeasty) scent. There’s some light dried fruits together with some citrusy and grassy hops. Flavour is malty with toffee/caramel, dried fruits (plums), citrus, grass, some typical spicey yeast, some warming alcohol and a very light bitter finish. Mediumbodied, smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Quite good beer but the typical Nynäshamn yeast is quite evident and so is the alcohol some sips. It needs some more bittering hops and should probably be better with that and maybe one percent less alcohol. If they get rid of the yeasty notes I wouldn’t complain either. With that said, this is still good stuff.

Cask at Bishop Arms, Malmø. A red-amber beer with a thin bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of over ripe fruits as well as lesser notes of alcohol and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit - especially peaches, yeast, and malt, and lesser notes of alcohol and hops, leading to a dry alcoholic finish, where a note of celery shows up.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 yespr (22102) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 3, 2009
From cask at Bishops arms, Malmö. Pours clear and golden orange with a minimal white head. Aroma is sweet peachy and fruity hops. Mild spiced hops flavoured with a sweet peach and apple scent. Lasting bitter and spiced hops flavour with a mild peachy fruity note. Growing bitterness yet also with a very distinct peach fruity flavour, almost as if real fruit was added.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Svesse (4384) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 24, 2009
(Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm, 23 Feb 2009) Dark amber colour with rocky, off-white head. Fruity, slightly yeasty nose with dark fruit, caramel and earthy hops. Fruity, malty, slightly yeasty taste with notes of dark fruit, caramel and generous doses of earthy hops in a fairly bitter finish. Slightly above medium body. The signature Nynäs character of earthy hops and a hint of yeast is obvious but they do have some beers that are more Extra Special Nynäs. Very nice beer though.
