Bottled: Pitch black coloured. Thin light brown head. Smokyness, butter, malt, spices in the aroma. The taste is fantastic. Liqourice, smoke, roastyness, malt and a good shot of malt. Holy cow this beer is smooth and complex. It’s fullbodied and the finish is bitter and has a long lasting on the palate. This is good stuff.

Nate (3326) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 27, 2004
Silky, smoky, raisin, tobacco aroma. Oak, vanilla, molasses. Sark, dark black with light tan lacing head. Medium-heavy body with soft carbonation. Smoky, alcohol, coffee start. Light acidity and bitterness. Finish gets more bitter, and acidity sticks. Smoky notes hang on the pakate throughout the after. Nicccce porter.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2005 Bottle #282. Black. Brief beige head. Woody, roasty, whiskey-like nose. Dry with soft, velvetty mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Oaky finish with balanced bitterness. This beer has definitely gained on the barrel aging.
