Bottle. Let me start by saying that I’m not a big fan of spiced beers. Nonetheless this beer impressed me. It starts of with a tan head with good retention laying on top of a dark brown beer with a red hue. Nose is subtly spicy and a little sour and reminds me of worcestershire sauce. The flavor begins mildly roasted bitter going into fruitiness ending in a long and dry finish. A beer that is wonderfully balanced between an almost stout like roastiness and subtle spicing. Soft carbonation and easy mouth feel makes this an easy drinking experience. Well done.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small mostly fading light beige bubbly head. Aroma of chocolate, spice, oak, plums. Taste is of plums, caramel, chocolate, smoked, cinnamon, ginger. Oily mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation.

Mörkbrun med ljusbrunt skum. Doftar och smakar lite choklad och kryddor. Lite för rökig för min smak. Annars bra

Skandynawski old ale ma brązowy kolor i dość niewielką pianę. W aromacie delikatnie, acz przyjemnie - karmel, przyprawy i trochę drożdży. W smaku jest bardzo podobnie, nieco czuć alkohol, ale nie przeszkadza to bardzo. Piwo jest pijalne, zrównoważone. Nie ma tu jakichś wzlotów, ale też wad ciężko się doszukiwać. Dobra rzecz!

500ml bottle. Shiny dark brown witth light brown head. Aroma is almost light peated with a touch of smoke, crisp bread, crackers and nuts. Taste is again light smoky with crisp bread, crackers, light malts and a slight herbal touch. Light mouthfeel, light carbonation and clean descrete aftertaste.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks Tom L. Clear dark brown. Some chocolate, a little phenol, slightly roasty aroma. Bitter and spicy with just a hint of licorice and winter spices in the mouth. Light-to-medium body, some pines, burnt finish.
