Jeppe (2631) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - DEC 16, 2004
Sampled from bottle at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2004 (#38) - Vintage 2003.
Disappearing head, hazy dark amber body. Little weak in the aroma, malty and grassy with light spicy notes. Good roasted flavor with malt and spices and some brown sugar notes. Hops in the finish. All right but quite ordinary.

Like smoke in the nose. Toasted malt taste with syrup and caramel. Whiskey-ish end, slightly spice. Soapy feel, thin-ish body. Not so thrilling overall.

Dark copper color, big head. Plum nose and taste - light alcohol comes through in the taste too. Thin bodied and ...what is this scribbling in my notes: SAKE???? What the hell did I mean by that??? Oh well....;-)

13-MAY-2011, bottle @Morten, from "Systembolaget". Dark amber, low beige head. Charamelt, malty, very sweet, and a bit watery. Low carbonation, weak nose, ...not good.

500 ml bottle. Brown colour. Clean. Tall light beige head that clings to the glass. Crisp light aroma with light floral aromas and a little yeast. Soapy. Very lager-like aroma. Some münchener malt flavours with a little red berries. More yeasty flavours and quite dry. Powdery aftertaste.

Frovigalning (2024) - Örebro, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2010 Bottle (50 cl). Re-rated 2010-03-20 Appearance: 4/5 Slightly hazy dark amber liquid with a medium sized beige head. Smell: 5/10 Weak smell of caramel, fruits, oranges and other citrus. Taste: 6/10 Smoke was the most dominant, but also bread, caramel, malts and oranges. Mouthfeel: 4/5 Smooth mouthfeel with a medium thick body and low carbonation. Comment: A smooth and mild Brittish style ale with a decent amount of smoke. Easy to drink and I can imagine drinking it in a pint glass at a pub. This beer didn’t work at all with the Easter food but I did try it with some cashews and spring rolls, both worked well. However the Easter food is a bit more salty and intense, which might not work as well. I think I’ll settle with this being a good combo with food but not necessarily Easter food.

Immy (1955) - Virginia Beach, USA - DEC 29, 2006
50cl bottle from omhper - thanks Per! Muddy red-brown with a tan head. Sweet nose, very malty, hints of toffee, nuts and light molasses. Flavor is not as sweet as the nose might have you believe, but is certainly malty, a mild nuttiness, with a spicy hop finish, a ginger-like zip. Interesting, pretty good overall.

tarjei (1954) - Bryne, NORWAY - APR 20, 2007
Cask conditioned (2006 version, tasted march 2007) at The Rover, Göteborg, Sweden - and 500 ml bottle (2007 version). I liked this one, the extra year had done the 06 version good.
