3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(on bottle 2004 edit.)Really great nose; fat of chocolates and liqourice. Watery mouth and then a wack over the tastebuds of english liqource!! Unbalanced in a way, ´cause I coulden´t taste anything else, apart from a dry finish and a slightly medical sent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2008 Bottle at The Rover, Gothenburg. One year old bottle. Experienced tasters of this beer, did not agree whether it was at its best now, or a year ago. Anyhow, for me, my opinion is what matters. Aroma is vinous with tar and roasted elements. Round, mild taste, that contains fruits, tar and roasted malt. Bitterness comes towards the end. Rating: 4-3-6-4-13-3. (051008)
On tap at The Rover, Gothenburg. A clear, very dark brown beer with a lasting, creamy, light tan head. The smooth aroma has chocolate, mocha, some vanilla and roasted malt. Smooth flavor too, with some bonfire-like burnt flavors, chocolate and coffee. A bit low on hops I think, but still not one-dimentional. Full body. Chocolatey bitterness in the finish, with some coffee. A really smooth and drinkable beer. (080709)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught, alc. 6 %
Opaque black, very small coffee head. Chocolaty, roasted nose. Medium to full bodied. Licorice, roast and hints of alcohol, but not annoying. Some grassyness in the background.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2007 (Draught@Pikkulintu, Helsinki, 4/2006) Very roasty coffee flavor with licorice hints. Slightly flowery hopping. A bit thin maybe. Sticky finish. Very ok, but not quite delicious. (Draught@Stockholm Beer Festival 2005, was 6-4-6-3-13=3.2) Very dark, almost opaque brown color with a small beige head. Very burned-malty, slightly sour aroma. Roasty and burned-malty flavor with slightly lactic-acidic feel. Medium-bodied, acidic palate with low carbonation. Not bad, but not very special.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is light: sweet, malty with roasted notes. The aroma is too light. The color is pitch black with a beutiful chocolate brown head. The flavor is sweet and malty with good roasty notes. A nice porter - especially considering the alcohol content.
