4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 24 Feb 2007) Opaque black colour with foamy, short, brown head. Very roasted nose with notes of tar, coffee and hints of smoke. Roasted taste with notes of heavily roasted black coffee (no sugar), smoke, tar, soy sauce, liquorice and a bitter finish with tobacco and French-roasted coffee. Full body, dry with a long, bitter, roasted finish that lasts forever. Awesome stuff!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2007 Beer number 100 - and fitting that it’s a great Swedish microbrew to mark the milestone with.
Draft @ the Glenfiddich Warehouse in Stockholm. Looked stunning in the glass, with the thickest puck of thick chocolately head I’ve ever seen. The aroma is a mixed of milk chocolate, coffee and a hint of smoke. These all carry over nicely to the taste, with a satisfying mouthfeel, which although a little light, is beautifully smooth. Quite sweet in the middle, and a medium bitter end. Loved it. Really loved it.

Black look, brown head. Beautiful look. Intense scent of bread, mixed with grains, some chocolate and a bit lightly burnt toast. Mix of burnt malt, old coffee, small hints of red wine, also chocolate taste. Smooth but also thin mouthfeel. Medium high bitterness, though it’s rather husky and sharp. Long coffee aftertaste.

Keg @ Stockholm Beer Festival 2005
Starts to become a tradition at the Stockholm Beer Festival. Pitch black and big head. Nicely roasted, toasted aromas from malts. Lovely burned character balanced with a discrete dose of hops. I like.
