3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled at Haket, Gothenburg. Jet black with a nice tan, almost brown, head. Chocolate, mocha, coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. The flavor has chocolate and bitterness, and could use some more to show off. Thin to medium body and a dryish and dusty mouthfeel. Long dry, coffee-bitter finish. A mild and quaffable stout. Cask Conditioned at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö
Dark color; no head. Both aroma and flavor are quite fresh, with notes of roasted malt, much more in the taste; monodimensional yet easy drinkable, good Stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Any first impressions?
-A ring stands on the opaque black.
-Milk chocolate powder heralds a dry dessert.
-Tasty roasted malts almost evolve into smokiness, convincing their bready companion to linger.
-This has a very healthy mouthfeel for its size, nutritious yet easily drinkable, well carbonated yet never a chore.
What if you dig deeper?
-The fruitiness of dates makes a polite appearence.
-The strong roastiness verges on being vegetal.
-A simple but efficient flavor profile cannot help but create a very competent dry stout.
Bottle; best before June ’06.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Good-looking, opaque black shade, offering a large, lasting, perfect light tan head of quality lacing. Generously roasty nose procures a rather smokey profile. Char wood, burning tobacco and light fruits (grapes) make for most of the taste development, but the smoke seems integrated and inherent to it all, adding a whisper of originality to an otherwise apparently BJCP-aimed brew. Limited acidity despite potentially american hops. A potential standard-bearer dry stout, hitting right on in every aspect and finishing strong and with roastiness at length despite natural watery edges in the light-medium mouthfeel of soft and gentle carbonation. Perfect execution.
