On tap. Golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruity with lots of grapefruit, malt citrus and caramel. Taste is also fruity, malt, caramel with high hop flavor and fairly low bitterness. Finish is malty and fruity hops.

In short: A very floral (flower petals) well balanced golden pale ale. Very clean and refreshing.
How: Tap at Black & Brown, Stockholm.
The look: Clear light golden body topped by a persistent small beige head leaving lots of lacigns on the glass.
In long: Nose is very floral hops, this is flowery to the point of being borderline girly, but a sensitive man like me can appreciate a flower bouquet when it comes from a beer. Taste starts with typical clean honeyed cereals with a touch of caramel, a mild sweetness sensation, then the floral hops bring a nice refreshing flowery bitterness of medium intensity with light resinous undertones. Don’t need to speak much Swedish to understand that “Sommar Ale” translates to “Summer Ale” and in that regards it is a success, I had it on a very sunny hot day sitting on a Stockholm pub patio and it was indeed a nice summer ale. Another good Swedish beer I had on tap on location, but Sweden is a very strange country, the public bathrooms are on the sidewalks, the toilet paper is like a book, people can see you doing your thing because the walls are see-through windows and also there is a phone.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy, medium orange/amber, with a white head. Hoppy, floral aroma, apricot, spruce, caramel, orange peel, faintly grainy, marmalade. Off-dry, medium bodied, medium to high bitterness, balanced CO2. Hoppy, fruity taste, apricot, resin, spruce, caramel, passion fruit, faint robust note of earth or grain. Dries out nicely in the finish, the alcohol is very well hidden. (2012-09-25)

Cask @ Bishops Arms Gustav, Malmö. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

Draught @ The Rover. Pours hazy goldenish copper with a frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while sticking to the glass leaving some thick lacing. Smell is tiny sweet, tiny sour and hoppy with bread, caramel, lemon zest, grapefruit juice and grass. Taste is sweet and bitter with grapefruit juice, lemon zest, soap, green grapes, lemon hard candy and hints of bread. Mouthfeel is smooth, round and light bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with lemon hard candy, lemon zest, grass and orange zest.

@Akkurat: trevlig fruktig doft med tydlig ananas. Smaken är välhumlad, stor frukt och kolatoner. Fin krämig eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bärnstensfärgad, klar vätska, lågt skum. Lätt doft av kådig humle, tallskott, grape och mango. Grape, resinolja, tall, gräs, färsk humle, rejäl beska. Munkänslan är blöt, smakerna rena men en liten metallsmak kommer fram i eftersmaken. Mer besk än fruktig. En av de bättre och framförallt beskare svenska APA jag druckit.

Flaska. Kraftigt humlad, doft och smak av citrus och grönt. Välbalanserad med smygg eftersmak. Bästa sommarölen hittills.

Cask via handpump at Oliver Twist, Stockholm on 21st June 2012. Clear copper with off-white ring-and-film giving partial lacing. Malty and peppery aroma with notes of salad vegetables. In mouth taste interesting - pepper notes continue with fresh veg tastes developing - green peppers, herbs and salad leaves. Malty, fruity and slightly savoury aftertaste; light mouthfeel. Not a favourite, but quite an interesting drink.

(Draught at The Picts Bar, 20120627) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and whie. Aroma had pine, fruitiness and malts, Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, pine, toffee, malts, mildly sweetness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. A tasty APA lacking some edges.
