Bottled. Oily black liquid with brownish head that diminishes quickly into almost nothing. Aroma is loaded with syrup, along with dark chocolate and suggestions of tar and soy. The alcohol is well hidden under a blanket of sweetness. Mouthfeel is super smooth and bit lifeless. There is coffee at first, then comes dried fruits, syrup and dark chocolate. After is licorice and sugar - which is very typical of a young Polish porter for example. Body is light, with low bitterness. This is a pretty good beer, but I’ve had tastier Imperial Porters, that are less syrupy.

Almost as black as it gets with a nice dark head. Wow! Big nose! Sweet malty with roasted notes, burnt sugar, liqourice, almonds/caramel and a hop bite. Big flavour with burnt malts, coffee, liqourice, soy, wood, almonds, brown sugar. A bit vinous. Quite thin mouthfeel. No carbonation. Really nice.

gyllenbock (2958) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 7, 2010
Bottle. The color was basically pitch black, minimal tan head. The aroma was sweet with syrup loaf , chocolate, soy and licorice. Also pleasant roasted tones. The taste contained the same as the aroma. Rather vinous with a slight touch of alcohol with a warming effect. The aftertaste was somewhat "salty". Very good beer in my opinion, one of the better ones from Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri. It took me about 30 minutes to drink the beer, the taste stayed together nicely in all that time.

Bottled from Systembolaget Murky black. Almost no head. Sweet fruits in the aroma; corints, raisin, prune. Vinous flavour. Surptisingly light. Some peppery notes along with sweet fruits.

Bottle. Black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of rye bread, caramel and dark chocolate with notes of dried fruits. Sweet and roasted flavour of dried fruits, dark chocolate and rye bread with notes of hops. Roasted and hoppy finish.

Pitch black, quite a big, light brown head that dissaperars pretty fast. Pleasant aroma, lots of chocolate, some smoked wood. Chocolate and wood comes back in the flavour, coffee, a little alcohol. Surprisingly thin mouthfeel, the aroma suggests that it would be quite a full flavoured, sticky beer. Overall a very good imperial porter. Possibly the best beer I’ve had from this brewery.

Bottle (25 cl) from systembolaget. Black with large but brief beige head. Sugary and roasted aroma with chocolate, coffee, tobacco and some leather. Relatively thin and a bit life less. A bit sweet. Good but not overwhelming.

Bottled@SBWF2010. Very much pitch black colour with a beigeish brown mediumsized head. Aroma is ashes, liquorice, tobacco and some slight smoked wet wood. Also some mild sour hints. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma, but also has some slight coffeeish and chocolaty notes. Pleasant and balanced, and hides the alcohol very well.
