Just another useless and tasteless pale lager. Not much of an aroma or flavor. Watery.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
The head is medium, body blond. It smells malty, mild, watery. The taste is malty, mild, watery. Bit bitter in the aftertaste.

I think the description needs to be translated. When they say subdued they mean nonexistent. Where they subtle it means maybe if we say it has hops you might actually think there are some. It by refreshing they mean wet then I guess they are correct. Always skeptical when they say serve "ice" cold meaning that it either does not taste good or the only redeeming feature is that it is cold. And I probably rated this beer too high because it was free.

Looks OK, but has little aroma or flavor. Best enjoyed ice cold after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clar golden with a pure white head. Pale malt aroma that’s a little fruity. Light bitter taste with a small bit of sweetness. Medium body. Not a bad beer as lagers go.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
This is the third of the big three New Zealand macro-brewers interpretation of a premium lager. It borrows from the marketing of Steinlager Pure and the flavours of just about every green bottle Eurolager. Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Possibly, this review seeks to examine how they’ve gone with that interpretation. It appears on the golden side of Eurolager with the minimum of apparent carbonation and no head. The aroma is mainly of lager malt and some metallic hop. It’s about as average as average aromas for average beers gets. In the mouth the carbonation comes out and the flavours are as mild and inoffensive as it could be. What makes Eurolager so popular isn’t just its light colour and drinkability when cold, but that it does have a particular twinge of bitterness. This beer just doesn’t have it. It is just a rather shallow impostor, which is disappointing.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
330mL bottle. Pours a golden lager wit ha short lasting white head. Looks ok in the glass. Weak aroma which is hard to make out. The beer is very thin, totally lacking in flavour, both malt and hops. This beer leaves an almost sticky aftertaste in your mouth. I struggled to finish the bottle after i drunk a few decent beers...

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2013 330mL bottle. A weak beer which is almost tasteless. I wouldn’t buy this again. It might be pure and crisp but that is about it really.

0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
For a country that actually makes spectacular wine and craft beer this is a disappointment. The initial aroma is of aluminium foil and the taste on the front palate confirms it. A truly horrific beer. The only time I would drink this beer would be if I was hiding in a bar trying to pick out a rape victim for later on. If I was to sum up this beer in one word, shame would be that word.
