A 2001 Silver Medal Winner at the North American Brewers' Association competition. A deep-copper colored medium - bodied ale. Its fresh flavor is smooth and carefully balanced with a nice mellowness and hint of caramel malt balanced by medium hop bitterness. It is an all malt beer that is naturally carbonated. A very drinkable beer all on its own and pairs well with all kinds of foods.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark golden to light amber in color, clear, with a small creamy off-white head. Biscuits, caramel, toffee notes and a fruity touch in the aroma. Quite thin on the palate, soft and dry, with a little bitterness in the flavor. Caramel and a malty touch too. Short finish. Not bad in any way this one, except it’s boring. 130818

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, nuts and just a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of malt, carmel, toffee and a hint of honey with a smooth bittersweet finish.

(draft) Clear medium copper body, minimal head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, malty. Taste is mild -- some caramel, but generally bland maltiness. No hoppiness to speak of. Palate is soft and smooth.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 12 oz bottle-pours an off white head and hazy gold/orange color. Aroma is herbal, funky fruit. Taste is funky fruit-apricot, osme herbal, light/medium malt-caramel. Not sure what the objective was but… Thanks decaturstevo for sharing. 110302-on tap, still about the same bottom line

12oz bottle acquired in trade with cbkschubert (thanks!). Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Muted aromas of caramel and citrus. I had to breath in real deep to get those. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and a splash of roastiness. Thinner body.

I am quickly finding out that I am not a fan of this brewery. Copper pour. Overwhelming smell of a new garden hose. Flavor is better than the aroma...by a little. Some honey, light hops, caramel malt and some rubber hose. Damn.
