Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 25, 2008 Dark brown with no head. Toasty, caramelly molasses nose is almost smokey. Sweet with brown sugar. Clean, soft and smooth. Very syrupy tasting, though, but in this case I don’t mind it. Beershine (1198), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Opaque brown-black with tan head. Pronounced smokiness in the nose and also a touch of bourbon. Woodsy with some mineral flavors in the beginning. Molasses comes out in the end of the flavors and lingers nicely. eaglefan538 (2037), Wilmington, Delaware, USA May 16, 2007 Poured dark brown-black color with mahoganey edges, nice tannish one full finger head, decent retention. The aroma was molasses, light coffee. The flavor was molasses, chocolate, some brown sugar with a touch of coffee in the finish. Pretty sticky stuff, more along the lines of a Baltic Porter in flavor than an Imperial Porter, but it was too sticky to be that. A nice find while leisurely passing through Sedona and the Grill, but I didn’t want more than one.
