COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer with aromatic hints of banana and clove. This beer won the Bavarian Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver Colorado Staurday, September 27, 2003. It is made with up to 50% wheat malt instead of all malted barley which lends a lighter note. It is deep gold in color with a very low hop bitterness level and a dense head of white foam. It is traditionally enjoyed as the summer beer of choice in Bavaria and pairs well with appetizers, sandwiches and subs.

Location: Draft at the brewpub, 3/3/14

Aroma: The aroma is wheat and lemon, with some notes of banana and clove
Appearance: Pours a murky looking yellowish color with an off-white head on it
Flavor: The taste is on-style, with wheat flavor, spice, and fruity flavors (banana, lemon, etc.)
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with a soft carbonation and a clean mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I plenty solid example of a hefeweizen. It isn’t close to being a standout or a poor version, just a solid one.

Sampled at the brewpub. Hazy yellow pour with a white head, served with a lemon slice. Spice, banana, clove, grass nose and flavors. Not a bad hefeweizen, better than their other offerings I thought.

Golden beer out of the tap with a rocky white head that left some sticky lace on the glass. Nose of spice and orange, but the orange may have been the garnish. Some banana and clove spice with lots of orange juice. Okay hefe.

Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, yeast, and banana. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long banana finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. An unclear orange to golden beer with a creamy off-white head. Banana, cloves and some bubblegum on the nose. Quite sweet on the palate, with some bitterness as well as banana and cloves. Bubblegum towards the end. Full body, smooth. A very nice hefe actually. 130818

December 2011. Sampled at the brewpub. Not my favorite style by any means, but this one was drinkable. Hazy golden color with a white head. Spice, clove, malt and grassy aromas. Citrus, banana and floral flavors.

Btl. Orange in color, cloudy unfiltered with no head and no lacing. Smells of bananas and little clove with slight citrus aroma. Sweet wheat flavor with a little citrus and yeast. Light bodied, dry texture with a tartness at the finish with minimal carbonation. This beer has great aromas. Unfortunately the taste does not match the smell. Under carbonated and just flat. Mediocre hefeweizen.

On tap at Brewery & Grill in Sedona. Cloudy yellow-golden color with a small but durable white head that leaves some spotty, sticky lacing. Served with lemon wedge that was gingerly removed before tasting. Aroma: banana, clove , yeast, bready light malts, wheat. Flavor: the aromatic components are all present, along with a clear note of lemon (see above). A bit light in both flavor and feel for style, but not, IMP, to its detriment. O: Unflawed, moderately refreshing, but weak finish and aftertaste. Medium-light body; proper carbonation.
