SuperDave70 (715), Arizona, USA Feb 17, 2008 Sampled at the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild 2008 Strong Beer Fest, on February 17, at the Mesa Amphitheatre. BOLTZ7555 (435), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 16, 2008 Where is the alcohol here??? Not terribly notable in the nose, palate. or flavor. I guess the old adage "if a tree falls in the forest" applies here: If the alcohol content is high but all other qualities are mild, is it really an "Imperial". Beautiful beer but that is the only thing that separates it from the masses. Expected more. GreatLibations (1252), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Feb 4, 2008 Pours dark amber with a solid, two finger head. Aromas of citrus rind and mild biscuiting. Full nectar with good carbonation. My first sip reveals a refined malt backbone and only a mild hop profile. The aromas tells another story. It’s not sweet as most of this style are and has flavors of caramel, citrus, and biscuits with a touch of alcohol. The finish is bittered w/ peachpit and leaves alcohol on the tongue. Overall: This brew is mildly flavored for how strong it is. Appearantly subdued yet packs a punch. Very warming.
