Where is the alcohol here??? Not terribly notable in the nose, palate. or flavor. I guess the old adage "if a tree falls in the forest" applies here: If the alcohol content is high but all other qualities are mild, is it really an "Imperial". Beautiful beer but that is the only thing that separates it from the masses. Expected more.

Pours dark amber with a solid, two finger head. Aromas of citrus rind and mild biscuiting. Full nectar with good carbonation. My first sip reveals a refined malt backbone and only a mild hop profile. The aromas tells another story. It’s not sweet as most of this style are and has flavors of caramel, citrus, and biscuits with a touch of alcohol. The finish is bittered w/ peachpit and leaves alcohol on the tongue. Overall: This brew is mildly flavored for how strong it is. Appearantly subdued yet packs a punch. Very warming.
