On tap at OHSO. Decent balance of caramely/ sweet malts & piney/ bitter hops. Pretty fresh tasting hop profile, which I enjoyed. OK overall, but a bit forgettable.

On tap @ The Parlor. Pours a clear red/amber with an eggshell white head. Aroma is pine, hops, roasted malt, sweet caramel and citrus juice. Taste is bitter hops, caramel, sweet malt and citrus. Very balanced and medium bodied beer with a hoppy finish. Just ok.

On tap at the Oak Creek Brewery & Grill in Sedona. Pour was reddish amber, very clear, with a remarkably durable, creamy, tan head. The head has a bit of red too. Glass is coated even 30 minutes after pouring. Simply great looking beer! Aroma: smells like aN IPA, although a tiny bit more malty than average. Taste follows: clearly an Imperial Red, this is strongly flavored with a huge hop component and moderate-high bitterness. Given that, good balance. Medium-full body with a touch of higher ABV harshness. Lightly dry finish. O: a very bold and hoppy red that is more like an IPA than an amber/red.

Had on tap at brewery while enjoying wonderful Simons hotdogs. Pours crimson with nice head. Nose of toasted malt. Tastes of more toasted malt, caramel, grapefruit, orange zest, and pine. This was my fav from oak creek this week.

A clear amber/light brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of fruits, notes of wood and hop. The taste is fruity, with caramel, hints of wood and hop. The aftertaste is sweet, with bitter and a little alcohol.

An imperial red with a red pour and an off white head. caramel malts and some grainy and yeastiness. Taste is bready, roastiness, and some sweetness. A little weak flavor overall.

(On draught at Hungry Monk). Pours a clear, deerp mahogany with trim khaki head. Light to moderate carbonation. Aroma has caramel, bready malts. Taste is sweet and sour malts with some bitterness. Really kind of dull and boring. The malt bill is lacking as are the hops.

On tap at GABF 2011. This is an unfortunate rating because this beer was infected, there was just loads of diacetal. Pours a deep red color with a small white head. The aroma is dry earthy caramel and toasted malts, light pine. The flavor is similarly dominated by dry caramel malts, lightly toasted, but there is a strong diacetal buttery flavor throughout that I can’t ignore. Still, it was decent. I will re-rate this when given the opportunity.
