Bottle from AJís Fine Foods Scottsdale. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Decent toffee notes on the nose. Tastes like butterscotch. Ew! Luckily it doesnít linger that long. Not feeling this one at all.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown translucent color, big head fades down to a stable white head. Strong aroma. I like my nut browns not quite as nutty as this I guess, this is borderline heavyhanded. It has some toasty notes too, but a light palate with a long aftertaste. Needs a more complex taste, maybe a different yeast or better combination of malts. It feels simple but it still tastes good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub. A clear brown beer with a dense light beige head. Roasted nose with toffee hints and a nutty hint. A faint touch of prunes as well. The flavor is lightly roasted, toffee, nut hints and some prunes in the flavor. Some bitterness. Quite thin, with pleasant carbonation, dry. Roasted finish with toffee and bitterness. Except that itís too thin on the palate, itís a pretty nice beer. 130818

The first time my buddy and I tried this beer was on draft at another brewery (in Flagstaff) and it was a guest brew. We were speechless and amazed at the complexities of the nutty flavor and malty finish. The next day we drove to Sedona to find the brewery and had another pint. We ordered a keg for our college graduation from the brewery, and have been enjoying ever since. This is a fantastic beer in an uncommon style.
