COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A 2002 Bronze Medal Winner in the North American Brewers' Association competition. This northern Arizona favorite has a consistent nutty flavor with just a hint of spice in its depths. A slowly emerging bitterness crops up along the way and is unobtrusively incorporated into the smooth flow. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and spiciness. Excellent with sandwiches and subs.

Copenhagen aroma - i.e. dirt and tobacco. Beautiful crimson brown with no head. Slight char in the flavor, peanuts and very light caramel. A bit watery. Beginner beer.

Pours with very little head that quickly disappears. Very mild and light body, not much going on. Sweet with a mild malt flavor. Watery, easy to drink but not very exciting.

this ruby tinged brown ale pours with little head, and little retention. softly carbonated. aroma is sweet malt and somw nutiness. weak at first, but grows as it warms. little to no hop presence in the aroma or taste, but as the maltiness is not offensive, itís a decent enough beer, if a little weak & light on the flavor profile. like a Sam Smiths Nut Brown light."

Iím having a hard time trying to enjoy this beer, Iíve had it several times now and there has been a 6 pack sitting in the fridge for a few weeks now being ignored. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a shaker; reddish/med brown, nice dense head that retains for 3-4 minutes. Thick mouthfeel but strangely watered down. Bitter burnt/roasted malts with a mellow sweetness, very light trace of caramel, if there are hops in here I donít taste or smell them. Honestly, I canít even detect the the nuts, the roasted flavor pretty much overwhelms any other flavors in this beer for me. The smell is very representational of the taste.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a small tan head on it. Nose is quite nutty with a lot of toasting. Taste is toasty and light with just a bit of sweetness on the back end. Decent brew.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/3/14

Aroma: The aroma is nutty and malty, nothing much beyond that, but on-style
Appearance: It pours a nice chestnut color with a beige head and some strong lace
Flavor: The flavor is nutty and malty as well, with a late lightly bitter hop component for balance
Palate: This one has a soft mouthfeel with a light-medium body and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Not a bad nut brown at all. Simple and on-style, with just enough of a hop presence to keep it from being completely one-dimensional.

Bottle from AJís Fine Foods Scottsdale. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Decent toffee notes on the nose. Tastes like butterscotch. Ew! Luckily it doesnít linger that long. Not feeling this one at all.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2014 Dark brown translucent color, big head fades down to a stable white head. Strong aroma. I like my nut browns not quite as nutty as this I guess, this is borderline heavyhanded. It has some toasty notes too, but a light palate with a long aftertaste. Needs a more complex taste, maybe a different yeast or better combination of malts. It feels simple but it still tastes good.
