3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2004 Bottled, rated from 2001 notes. I had this at Rod's Steak House in Williams, AZ on our Rt. 66 trip. It impressed me as having a very complex earthy and chocolate palate which overcame an initial grassy note. It was a good choice for a local beer to match with Rod's steak.

Ruby light brown. Big fluffy beige head. Cocoa. Toast. Nutty. Berries. Bigger light body. A bit of roast. A hint of sweetness. No bitterness. A fine classic brown ale, but its a style in desperate need of some innovation.
